FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Retail Anywhere’s Kirstin Wright Elected as Chair to the ARTS Data Model Committee
Atascadero, CA., May 7, 2007 – Retail
Anywhere, a leading developer of point of sale and retail
management solutions, today announced that its Chief Systems
Architect, Kirstin Wright, has been elected chair of the
Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) Data Model
Committee.
As the information standard in the retail industry, the ARTS
Data Model provides a comprehensive design document containing
all data elements and definitions required to support retail
applications. Originally released 14 years ago, the ARTS Data
Model has been developed based on the input of leading retailers
and vendors worldwide, creating a best-of-breed model available
to retailers in all market segments.
A long time member of ARTS, Retail Anywhere adopted the Data
Model in 2005 as a base for application development for its new
point of sale and other in-store applications. Since that time
Kirstin has volunteered her time and efforts to the Data Model
Committee. “With the full support of Retail Anywhere, I am
thrilled to accept this responsibility. These are exciting times
for ARTS as the many components, representing years of hard
work, are really coming together. I look forward to being part
of it and will continue working to enhance and further develop
the Data Model,” said Kirstin Wright, Chief Systems Architect of
Retail Anywhere.
“ARTS is pleased to have Kirstin lead the Data Model Committee
during a very challenging time,” said Richard Mader, Executive
Director of ARTS. “The Committee is creating a new data
dictionary to unify the three ARTS standards; ARTS XML,
UnifiedPOS and the Data Model while developing the first Data
Warehouse Model and developing release 6.0. Kirstin brings a
high level of knowledge and dedication to the task as her
company Retail Anywhere is fully compliant and committed to the
Model.”
